First Egyptian Bloggers meeting tonight
We are holding what I hope will become the first of many Egyptian Bloggers meeting tonight at my home in Cairo. About ten political bloggers have agreed to come, along with guest journalist Mona ElTahawy.
I am hoping we come away from this meeting better organized while maintaining our unique, and often very diverse, perspectives. The central objective I hope to promote in this first meeting is Sandmonkeys initiative to get out the vote for the upcoming Egyptian Parliamentary Elections this November.
I will be writing on our developments for GV as well as a latter round up piece on the results of all of our collective efforts towards that initiative.
I will then be traveling to Amman, Jordan and will try to set up a similar meeting there. If you are a Jordanian Blogger and are interested please email me at onearabworld(at)h o t m a i l(dot)com

Of course not everyone has met everyone. But *almost* everybody who has been blogging over the last year and who resides in Egypt has met with others at leats once.
Since you're in Cairo you may be interested in this organised meeting. (Comment this)
Egyptian's blogging in English are at an advantage of reaching outside to those who speak no Arabic. How about if they get more in the loop and tell the stories?
See you in a bit. (Comment this)
Jordanian Bloggers meeting is on long time ago. In fact the next meeting is on 14th September, so if you happen to be around in Joradn during then, drop in and meet the guys. I met them last month when I was in Jorda.

Why don't the arabic bloggers 'get in the loop' and tell the stories in English too? (Comment this)
Sorry Karim I'm not in Egypt and I don't own a blog (thank God I don't if this is the attitude really).
Good luck with whatever you do and say hi to SM for me.

No Twosret. I'm sorry. This is not Bull crap attitude, and the guys who commented do not have "attitudes". They just express the fact that bloggers have met at least 20 times in Egypt. Some of those who blog in English have also met. Bigger meetings took place.
So, I don't think the comments were irrelevant or they are out of proportion. The title was a bit misleading.
The meeting is definitely a great thing, and it was the "first one" that Karim attended. Let's hope for more meetings. (Comment this)
You are entitled for your opinion and I'm entitled for mine. On so many different occasions SOME of the people above have much more than a crapy attitude oh let me re-write it ATTITUDE. Karim wrote a simple post to request a meeting and may be he thought it is the "First" simply because he lives in Boston U.S.A. Makherbetsh el Dania ya3any he might have been unaware of meetings that took place already.
It wasn't about "First" or "Bigger" it is about a meeting for the love of God!
End of story. (Comment this)
That aside I had a great time, it was very interesting meeting you guys, and I hope we do it again.
