2 - I am not Arab, but I truly feel for your people at this time. If only the Arab and Muslim world were united, the Zionists and their American sponsors would not be perpetrating these gross violations against the Lebanese and Palestinians as they are doing now.

It is truly disgusting, especially when you consider that the so-called "civilised" nations of the west are going along with it. Don't let the bastards wear your PanArabic resolve down. Keep up the struggle in your own way, however small.

It's a shame that you've quit posting. I'm not even sure that you'll read this, hope you do. The thing is blogs like yours are one of those tiny little points of light in the dark and stormy ocean and I think it'd be REALLY GOOD should you decide to continue.

I used to live in Cairo as a kid and the post-Sep 11 troubles have brought me into conflict with a lot of my countrymen (I'm Australian) who have a fairly blinkered and ignorant understanding of what's going on. Even the 'left' which is motivated by an equally blinkered knee-jerk anti-Americanism doesn't really get it.

Actually I reckon very few do. In Australia most people are informed solely by the Murdoch press who are promoting the "War on Terror" in exchange for a bigger slice of the media pie. There is the resulting absurd image of crazed hordes at the gates.

This is apparent in the blogsphere every time you bring up Israel/Palestine there's a miniature war of words every bit as unyielding and irrational as the real one. I commented on this using attitudes to the film <i>Munich</i> on my blog (in which I quoted you). You can find that post here if you're so inclined.

Anyway whether or not you decide to come back (please do) - Salaam 'alaikum..
